Howe returns to Australia after four years of playing collegiate baseball with Clarendon College and the University of Texas-Pan America, where he was a stand out leading the team in nearly every major offensive category. He was the only player on the UTPA roster that hit over .300, ranking second in the Western Athletic Conference in doubles (18), third in on-base percentage (.451), slugging percentage (.544) and total bases (112). Howe posted a career batting average of .332 and started in all but one game in his two years at UTAP.
