Letter from CEO Cam Vale

Dear Baseball Family

The next 18 months present a golden opportunity to grow baseball in Australia and create a generational legacy for our sport. The task ahead is not easy, but our goals are clear; qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and create a Women's Australian Baseball League.

Today we launched two fundraisers, and, through the Australian Sports Foundation to help achieve our goals. - $250,000 target
Our goal is to help bring professional women's baseball to Australia. A women's league would create a pathway for our elite female baseballers and attract international players. High-performance funding for elite teams and programs is explicitly allocated for male outcomes only, leaving us with no other choice than to seek donations from our baseball family. - $240,000 target
Despite sitting seventh in the World Baseball Softball Confederation world rankings we rank 32nd out of 35 Olympic sports for funding per athlete. To make our path to Tokyo even tougher, only five nations will join hosts Japan at the Olympics. An extra $10,000 per athlete would help us close the funding gap and purchase the world-class technology we need to match it with baseball's big nations.
Your tax deductible donation will not only help us chase our goals in the next 18 months but help attract a new generation of baseballers - boys and girls - to take the sport in Australia into the future.

Thanks for your continued support.

Yours Sincerely,
Cam Vale
CEO, Baseball Australia
