Doosan Bears to take on Aussie talent

UPDATE: Tuesday 20th February game cancelled due to scheduling conflicts. The Sunday 18th game is still going ahead at 6:00pm as scheduled.

The Sydney Blue Sox are excited to welcome the three time KBO League Champion Doosan Bears to Sydney for a two game exhibition series on February 18 & 20.

The Doosan Bears are in Sydney for their spring training preparations at Blacktown International Sportspark after coming off an impressive 2017 season in which they were runners-up in the KBO League Championship. This comes after winning the championship consecutively in the 2015 and 2016 seasons.

The Bears bring a host of baseball talent to Sydney with former Major Leaguers Jimmy Paredes and Josh Lindblom on the roster for the upcoming season. As well as former Major Leaguers, the Doosan Bears also bring talent from the South Korean national baseball team with them to Sydney. The most notable member being left-handed-pitcher Chang Won-Jun who started Game 1 of the 2017 World Baseball Classic for South Korea.

The game on February 18 will see the Doosan Bears take on an invitational team of Australian Baseball League players which will see one of Korea's top baseball teams take on some of the best talent the ABL has to offer. The February 20 game will see the Bears take on the Sydney Blue Sox as they finalise their preparations for the upcoming KBO season.
