Lutz Bids Farewell to Oz

With Round Nine on the horizon, Donald Lutz has said his goodbyes to the 2016/17 ABL season. Among numerous commitments, the former Cincinnati Red was destined to return to the United States, as he is getting married within the month.

The Brisbane Bandits, proudly presented by WellDog, was honoured to have Lutz and his leadership on the roster over the past two seasons. The big leaguer was a crucial part of the Bandits' order this season, providing a consistent power at-bat.

Head Coach David Nilsson ackowledges the vital role Lutz played on and off the field.

"Donald's presence continuously reminds the players to give a maximum effort while still having fun in the game," Nilsson said.

Over five series, the impact he's had on the Brisbane Bandits roster is inevitable.

2016/17: 19 G, 65 AB, 12 R, 21 H, 4 HR, 17 RBI, .323 AVG, .600 SLG

ABL Career: 75 G, 268 AB, 38 R, 75 H, 14 HR, 64 RBI, .280 AVG, .541 SLG

As the ABL season comes to a close, Lutz is on the market as a free agent, looking to close a deal with another Major League Club. As Lutzy's journey continues, the Bandits organization will keep ABL fans updated on his progress and success. Bandits nation will miss you, Lutzy!
