01/27/2016 4:07 AM ET

SYDNEY - The 2015/16 Australian Baseball League regular season wrapped up last weekend, with the three playoff spots and postseason locations decided during the course of the series. Lefthander Travis Blackley, of the Brisbane Bandits proudly presented by WellDog, and SA Power Networks Adelaide Bite infielder Travis Demeritte earned the final Delta Air Lines Player of the Week awards for their performances in Round 14.

Blackley tossed seven shutout innings in the Bandits' game three win over the Alcohol. Think Again Perth Heat, allowing two hits and striking out nine as he pitched the first leg of a combined shutout. The veteran lefty has dominated ABL hitters since joining Brisbane, with a 2-0 record and 1.50 ERA in four games spanning 18 innings and three starts. He's also struck out 21 batters in those 18 innings while walking just six. Brisbane swept the series over Perth and further cemented their place atop the ladder, while also clinching the right to host the 2016 ABL Championship Series presented by Boral in the first week of February.

Meanwhile in Adelaide, the Bite clinched a playoff spot with a win over the Canberra Elite Cavalry in the series opener and went on to take the series 3-1, with Demeritte playing a key role throughout the weekend. Though he hit just .278 over the weekend, Demeritte made his hits matter, smacking four home runs over the course of the four-game series. He shined in the first game, driving in two runs while launching his first longball of the series. The next night, the 21-year-old Texas Rangers prospect went 2-for-4 with a pair of homers and three RBIs, followed by a one-hit performance in the third game and a 1-for-5 showing in the finale, hitting his fourth home run of the weekend in the win. Demeritte ended the regular season with a .216 batting average and slugged nine home runs (tying him for third in the league) while appearing in all 56 of Adelaide's contests.

The Bite will face off against the Canberra Elite Cavalry this weekend in the ABL Preliminary Final. The winner of that series will travel to Brisbane 5-7 February to play in the Australian Baseball League Championship Series presented by Boral, hosted by Blackley and the Bandits. Tickets are on sale for both the Preliminary Final and Championship Series, and can be purchased online at and or by calling the respective host clubs.
