SYDNEY, 4 December - Adelaide Bite outfielder Angus Roeger and Alcohol. Think Again Perth Heat starting pitcher Anthony Claggett have been named the Round Five Delta Air Lines Player and Pitcher of the Week respectively. The awards were announced this week by the ABL brought to you by 'Be the Influence: Tackling Binge Drinking'.

Roeger experienced a power surge during his side's road series at Canberra. The 22-year-old blasted four home runs over four games in the nation's capital, moving into the league's lead in that category with five total longballs this season. Overall, Roeger batted .333 in the four-game set, driving in five runs and scoring five more. The series included Roeger's first career multi-homer game which came on Friday, followed by a pair of doubleheader performances with a home run on Saturday. This season, Roeger leads his club in batting average (.317), home runs (5), runs batted in (7), hits (13), on-base percentage (.451), and slugging percentage (.683).

On the mound, Claggett improved to 3-1 with a 1.75 ERA through his first four starts of the year by blanking the Melbourne Aces on the road in the nightcap of Saturday's twinbill. The right-handed Californian struck out seven Aces batters while not walking a man and scattering six hits through 6.2 innings pitched. Claggett's win was the second of an eventual three for the reigning champions in the four-game series. The Heat improved to 8-3 on the road this season and stayed atop the ABL table with a 10-4 record.

The weekly honours are the first of the season for each of these two players. Both men and their teams will be at home in Round Six action with Roeger and the Bite hosting the Aces at Norwood Oval and Claggett's Heat back at Barbagallo Ballpark taking on the Brisbane Bandits.
