  • Heat sweep Sox, through to fifth straight ABLCS

    PERTH, 31 January - The Alcohol. Think Again Perth Heat scorched the Sydney Blue Sox, 9-2 on Saturday in the second game of the 2015 ABL Preliminary Final series, clinching a place in the ABL Championship Series for the fifth consecutive year.     SYDNEY, 25 January - After clinching their fifth-straight playoff berth last night, the Sydney Blue Sox (22-24) lost their regular season finale to the Canberra Elite Cavalry (22-24) by a score of 7-2 on a hot and sunny afternoon at Blue Sox Stadium, in a wacky game that saw an infielder pitch and a pitcher catch.     After securing their playoff berth in the previous name, Perth caught their third victory of the series, with a 11-7 victory over Brisbane. In a long game, often tied up, but Allan de San Miguel hit a grandslam home run in the 8th to get Perth over the line. This game also cemented Brisbane in fourth place, and out of the playoffs.
