Sydney have announced two-time Claxton Shield winning manager Shane Barclay as their 2019/20 manager.

Barclay lead New South Wales to championships in 2004 and 2005, and has been involved in a number of underage national teams.

"It is an immense honour and I am so excited to become part of the Blue Sox family," Barclay said.

"We have amazingly talented local players, a dedicated coaching support staff, and have already signed a number of last year's imports.

"We are working hard to lock in some final pieces to the jigsaw."

Barclay replaces Tony Harris, who was relieved of his duties as Sydney manager following a 38-42 record during two regular season campaigns, including 25-15 during the recently completed season.
