His smile could be seen from a mile away, even as he walked up to pitch and in-between every pitch.

Kick was an instant fan favourite the moment he stepped onto the field while his unique sidearm action caught the attention of baseball fans and opponents alike.

Few were able to beat it. He conceded runs on just two occasions with one tough five-run outing the sole reason for his ERA.

Kick's charisma and smile are just two reasons why fans hope he returns next season.

2018/19 ABL season

Games: 9
Innings: 16.2
ERA: 3.24
Strikeouts: 11
Runs: 6

The highlight

While Adelaide lost 5-2, Kikue tossed 3 2/3 hitless innings at West Beach against Melbourne on November 24, steadying the ship after the Bite slipped behind 3-0.

What's next?

Kikue returns to Honda Kumamoto who is a part of Japan's sprawling Japan Amateur Baseball Association. Teams owned by companies such as Honda, Nippon, Yamaha and Subaru compete with the pinnacle the Intercity Baseball Tournament at Tokyo Dome.
