An established ABL star at just 22, Whitefield left home comfort in Brisbane to pursue new opportunities with Adelaide. He left a side that had won three consecutive titles (and recently made it four in a row) for a team that had finished last.

Whitefield slotted into the lead-off position and he made it count with a team-high 27 runs and 10 doubles.

The Team Australia outfielder was a positive injection of energy, his outgoing personality brought youthful leadership and a professional mentality.

Games: 40
Average: .253
Hits: 40
Runs: 27
RBI: 18
Doubles: 10
Home runs: 4

The highlight

Two games in and Whitefield came out firing against his old side, Brisbane. He went 2-for-4 with a double and home run as the Bite won 5-3 against the eventual champions.

What's next?

This year will be his fifth Minor League season and he'll likely return to the Fort Myers Miracle, defending Florida State League champions.
