Adelaide has secured its first series win of the Brut Australian Baseball League season with a 7-2 win over Geelong-Korea on Saturday night.

The Bite moved above .500 - for the first time since January 2017 - with the win and set up a shot at a series sweep at Geelong Baseball Centre tomorrow.

Adelaide did a lot of the damage in the first inning of a rain-affected contest.

Mitchell Edwards, Nick Shumpert and Mitch Lightbody all singled to drive in runs and give starter Michael Gahan a lead to work with.

Gahan, in turn, produced his best outing of the season.

The 23-year-old worked five scoreless innings - either side of a lengthy rain delay - and allowed just one hit with seven strikeouts.

Jorge Perez replaced Gahan and punched out the side in the sixth.

But he gave up a lead-off homer to Yun-Hyeok Choi in the seventh as Geelong-Korea threatened to come back.

Hwi-Yeon Park then singled off reliever Tohru Kikue to cut the Bite's lead to two runs.

Adelaide responded in the eighth with Aaron Whitefield's RBI-double building a three-run buffer.

Michael Gettys' RBI-triple and a sacrifice fly by Edwards in the ninth padded the Bite's lead further.

GK starter Jin-Woo Kim recorded nine strikeouts and allowed four runs on eight hits in six innings of work.

The series wraps up from 1pm local time tomorrow.
