Mikey Reynolds delivered two vital hits and Austin Gallagher blasted his first Brut Australian Baseball League homer to power Adelaide to a 6-0 win over Geelong-Korea on Thursday night.

Starter Markus Solbach continued his red-hot start to the season, tossing seven scoreless innings at Geelong Baseball Centre, as the Bite recorded their sixth win of the campaign.

Reynolds broke the deadlock in the fifth, delivering on a full count with the bases loaded and two out.

He singled to centre field with the runners in motion, scoring Curtis Mead (single) and Aaron Whitefield (walk).

Austin Gallagher crushed his first ABL homer to right field an inning later to extend Adelaide's lead to three runs.

Reynolds' second hit of the game scored another two-out run in the seventh.

The timely offence was enough for the Bite to claim a series-opening win as Solbach impressed on the mound yet again.

He worked into the eighth before being replaced by Ryo Takeuchi.

The German finished with seven strikeouts, allowing six hits and a walk to record his third win.

Takeuchi stranded two runners left aboard by Solbach to preserve Adelaide's four-run lead.

The Bite then added two runs in the top of the ninth.

GK starter Jin-Yong Jang put together another strong outing, giving up three runs on six hits with three strikeouts in six innings.

Game two is at Geelong Baseball Centre from 6.30pm tomorrow.
