Local police are investigating an incident involving vehicles performing 'donuts' at the home of the Perth Heat.

The Heat can confirm the Perth Harley-Davidson Ballpark in Thornlie was broken into on the night of 16 April 2018 where trespassers caused damage to the outfield.

Baseball WA and Perth Heat Chief Executive Lachlan Dale says the 15 x Claxton Shield Champions are working closely with local authorities to catch the people responsible.

"We're doing our best to get to the bottom of this and make sure things like this don't happen again," he said.

"It's incredibly disappointing to see our home treated with such disrespect."

Field crew have begun work to repair the field, as it is scheduled to be used for the finals of the Senior League State Championships on Wednesday and Thursday.

"Our staff are working tirelessly to get the field back to its best," Dale said.

Forensics visited the scene this afternoon.
