A six-run fourth inning propelled Brisbane to a 4-0 series lead over Melbourne at Holloway Field on Saturday night.

The Bandits broke a 6-all tie as Lin Chih-sheng and T.J. Bennett came up with RBI-singles before Logan Wade and David Sutherland went deep to complete a big inning as part of a 12-9 win.

Delmon Young blasted a three-run homer to bring the Aces within three but they did not add anymore in the top of the fifth before the game was completed early due to Holloway Field's curfew.

The start of the game had been pushed back after game one of the doubleheader ran late following a lengthy rain delay.

When game two did start, it was more of the same as both sides played long ball.

Young homered off Travis Blackley as Melbourne put up four first-inning runs.

Brisbane blasted its way back into the ballgame in the second.

T.J. Bennett started the inning with his equal league-leading 10th home run and Aaron Whitefield and Adam Weisenburger drove in runs before the Bandits tallied two on an error by the visitors.

The Aces tied the game but Whitefield homered in the third to restore a Brisbane lead.

But Craig Maddox's second home run of the series put the Bandits behind again.

Brisbane's powerful offence shone in the fourth against Melbourne reliever Scott Schuman.

The Bandits will chase a sweep of the five-game series tomorrow, starting at 12pm local time.
