Perth wrapped up its fifth series win of the season following a 5-3 victory over Adelaide at Adelaide Shores on Sunday.

The Heat overturned an early 2-0 deficit with a strong team-hitting display and well-rounded pitching performance.

Starter Nick Veale allowed just two runs - on a homer by Jordan McArdle - and two hits in four solid innings.

And Perth's bullpen gave up just one run - an eighth-inning homer by Chang Tai-shan - as closer Cameron Lamb escaped a bases-loaded jam in the ninth.

Jake Fraley drove in the Heat's first run, stole his league-leading 25th base, and then scored on a double by Luke Hughes in the third as Perth erased McArdle's two-run homer.

Robbie Glendinning then singled and scored on a groundball as the Heat took the lead in the fourth.

Matt Dixon's RBI-double made it 4-2 ahead of Garrett Whitley extending the lead to three runs with a double in the fifth.

Six of Perth's eight base hits were doubles, with Luke Hughes accounting for two of the extra base hits.

Adelaide scored all three of its runs on long balls.

McArdle hit his fourth homer of the season against Perth while Chang's blast was his first long ball at home for the Bite.

Perth (18-9) hosts fifth-placed Sydney in round eight, starting on Thursday night.

Adelaide (7-21) is away to Canberra.
