The Perth Heat have produced their most complete performance of the ABL season, routing the Canberra Cavalry 12-1 at MIT Narrabundah Ballpark on Friday night.

With the win, the Heat take a 2-0 series lead and remain top of the ABL standings.

Fresh from Thursday's dramatic tie-breaker win, Perth were eyeing a seventh away win in a row and got off to a fast start - scoring four runs in the third inning.

Consecutive RBI doubles to Jake Fraley and Tim Kennelly put the Heat on the board before an outfield error allowed two more runs to score as the visitors took command of the game early.

Perth starter Kyle Simon, appearing in his fifth game of the season was dominant - striking out six batters in eight innings whilst only giving up a single run to record his second win of the year.

It was Perth's bats which stole the show, however.

Back-to-back home runs from infielders Mike Brosseau and Luke Hughes made it a 7-0 ballgame before the Heat put the game out of reach with a five-run eighth inning.

Ulrich Bojarksi's three-run home run pushed the Heat's score into double digits before RBIs to Jess Williams and Fraley rounded out a comprehensive win for the Heat.

The home run was Bojarski's first of the season after hitting three in his rookie campaign a year ago.

The Heat will look to wrap up their third series win on the bounce in Saturday's Game Three from 7 pm WST.
