The Perth Heat's double-header against the Sydney Blue Sox was washed out without a pitch being thrown at the Blacktown Baseball Stadium on Saturday.

Umpires and officials came together to call-off the game around 8 pm with two games scheduled to take place on Sunday instead.

The washout means a change in tactic for the Heat.

Scheduled starters Kyle Simon and Nick Veale will remain in the rotation, with Tom Bailey out of the bullpen.

Bailey, who was scheduled to start on Sunday will now be available in relief for the double-header which will be played at 6.30 am and 9 am AWST.

"It gives us some extra depth having Tom out of the bullpen," Manager Andy Kyle said.
