It took almost 24 hours but Canberra has opened its rain-affected series against Adelaide with a record-breaking 18-3 victory on Friday night.
The Cavalry resumed with a 4-2 lead at Adelaide Shores after play was suspended following a second rain delay on Thursday night, but the final line did not reflect it.
They added more misery to the Bite's fast-fading season, finishing with a record score at the second-year ballpark.
Canberra tacked on two runs in the fifth and three more in the sixth, chasing Adelaide reliever Jack O'Loughlin in the process.
O'Loughlin, who replaced Bite starter Chris Powell upon the resumption of play, hit Buddy Reed with a pitch to start the fifth and then gave up three singles as David Kandilas and Ryan Kalish drove in runs.

The 17-year-old started the sixth inning, but did not get out if it as Cameron Warner (walk), Gabriel Arias (walk) and Reed (double) all reached with none out.
Tim Day came out of the bullpen and walked two, including one with the bases loaded, as the Cavs blew the lead out to 9-2.
It got worse for Adelaide, which slumped to 1-8 on the season.
Canberra piled on nine runs in the eighth to push the lead out to 18-2 in a record-breaking romp, eclipsing the 15 runs the hosts scored against Sydney at the venue in January.
Arias finished with five runs batted in and Reed and Jay Baum both collected three hits as the Cavs tallied 15.
Lake Bacher tossed four scoreless innings, striking out three, after replacing Brian Grening when play restarted.
Game two will start shortly.
