Brisbane scored early and often to ruin Perth's home-opener with a 16-9 victory on Friday night.

The Bandits chased Heat starter Alex Boshers early and responded with a seven-run seventh after the Heat threatened to challenge at Perth Harley-Davidson Ballpark.

Boshers did not get out of the third as Brisbane scored the opening six runs of the game.

And after Perth cut the deficit to one run in the fifth, the Bandits then put on nine runs to blow the lead out once more.

Most of those came in the seventh.

Brisbane scored seven runs, headlined by a three-run home run from Donald Lutz, as they batted around.

Earlier, Bandits' starter Ryan Bollinger outlasted his adversary by working into the fifth before striking trouble.

Bollinger left the bases loaded with none out for reliever Zac Treece.

Treece came up big, punching out Zac Law, Ulrich Bojarski and Jesse Williams to preserve a one-run lead.

From there Brisbane's offence went to another level.

Perth hit back with three runs of its own in the eighth and added one in the ninth but a comeback was beyond them.

The series continues with a doubleheader on Saturday.
