Luke Hughes returns to add veteran leadership to the HEAT lineup. The 33-year-old former Major Leaguer will look to build on a strong 2016/17 season where he hit an impressive .313 in 37 games, whilst plating 15 runs. 'Hughesy' could see time split between first, second and third base as well as fulfilling his duties as an assistant coach for the team.

Tim Kennelly is back after leading the team in batting average last season and gives the team a utility presence like no other. The 30-year-old has played in every position besides shortstop in his seven ABL seasons with the Heat.

Jess Williams is just one of a young core of HEAT stars ready to take the next step in 2017/18. The 18-year-old shortstop is fresh from competing at the Under 18 World Cup with Australia and will look to build on his six ABL appearances. Expect the Morley youngster to put his hand up to fill the void left by Joey Wong.

Matt Dixon returns to provide depth to this lineup. The versatile 23-year-old can play as an infielder or catcher.
