PERTH - Well it was a special Friday Night in Perth as the legends of the Perth Heat joined the current players and Baseball Community to pay tribute to #44 Greg Jelks.

In the fastest game of the season clocking 2 hrs 3 minutes the Heat won it 2-1 off the back of quality pitching and timely hitting, non more so than Derek Peterson who extended his hitting streak to 23, the longest streak in the history of the reborn ABL.

Fielders Choice Post Game Wrap Up

Pitching again was outstanding for the Heat off the back of a successful start from Baltimore Orioles prospect, Lex Rutledge who looked in control at all stages and a man who our own Dan Vaughan believes is "The Best pitcher in the league, right now".

Scott Mitcinson was outstanding along with Will Dennis and Warwick Saupold who all succeeded in not giving up a hit.

Box Score

With bat in hand, it has to be about our Subaru Player of the game, Derek Peterson.

The Baltimore Oriole prospect, Peterson went 2-3 with both the RBI's and was the difference with the wood. Peterson is now hitting .305 on the season and as mentioned has the longest active hitting streak in ABL history.
