The ABL All-Star Game sees the best players in the ABL compete in the mid-season feature, with local talent set to challenge the class of the overseas imports.

For the Blue Sox (9-11) contingent, they come off a tough series loss to Melbourne, but they know that this is a unique opportunity to showcase Sydney's depth and talent.

Speaking last week about the All-Star announcement, pitcher Josh Guyer was humbled by the selection.

"I'm over the moon, it's a very surreal feeling and I honestly can't believe it," Guyer revealed.

"I have always dreamt of playing baseball for Australia and never thought it would actually become a reality."

Club stalwart Trent D'Antonio has experienced the energy and excitement of the ABL All-Star Game and knows this year will be no exception.

"I had lots of fun down there last year and this year should be no different," D'Antonio said.

On the World All-Star team, Blue Sox outfielder Stone Garrett has enjoyed the ABL journey so far and is excited by the prospect of representing the World All-Stars in Melbourne.

"It's a great feeling being picked to play in the ABL All Star Game," Garrett said.

"My time in Sydney so far has been great. I like the relaxed environment of Winter Ball here, it allows you to work on your game at your own pace."

The ABL All Star Game, presented by Boral, will take place at Melbourne Ballpark on Thursday December 22nd 2016. First pitch at 7:30pm local time.

This fixture is the final chance to see the Southern Thunder on home soil, before they compete at the World Baseball Classic in March 2017.
