The Sydney Blue Sox (7-5) went down 5-1 to the Alcohol Think Again Perth Heat (4-8) in Game 4 of the series today.

The game began tight, with no runs scored until the top of the fourth inning.

The Heat got the first run across the plate from a single into left field, bringing home a runner from third base.

Early on, the Blue Sox infield showed great defence, keeping the Heat at bay, with duo Aaron Sookee and Josh Dean combining for a 3 up, 3 down, third inning.

The game remained scoreless until the top of the sixth, where infielder Luke Hughes smacked a solo home run (2). The offense continued for Perth, scoring three more runs and taking their lead to 5-0.

Perth stater, Daniel Schmidt (W, 1-1) was clinical, earning his first win of the season. Schmidt allowed one run on six hits across six innings.

The Blue Sox followed the Perth offense with a pair of singles from Trent D'Antonio and Malik Collymore.

A ground ball to left field from Josh Dean brought D'Antonio home, putting the Blue Sox on the scoreboard and taking the game to 5-1.

Starter Aaron Sookee (L, 0-2) was replaced after 5.1 innings, allowing five runs on four hits. In relief, the Blue Sox bullpen was lights out, going 3.2 innings without allowing a hit.

Despite the loss in Game 4 Sydney Blue Sox did take their second series win for the season winning 3-1.

The Blue Sox are at home again next weekend as they welcome the Brisbane Bandits (5-7), proudly presented by WellDog, to town for the four-game series.
