Pre-Season Series 2 Game 2

  24 October 2014 - The Alcohol. Think Again Perth Heat played the USA All-Stars in their pre-season game on Friday, 24th October at Barbagallo Ballpark. The Heat had a triumphant victory against the USA All-Stars winning 10-5.

The 1st inning was highlighted by an array of defensive gems by the Heat, keeping the game scoreless in the first. The 2nd inning saw both offenses get on the board. The USA All-Stars hit a two run homer, but Jake Turnbull hit a double down the line to cut the lead in half to make it 2-1. The third featured a play at the plate, where the USA All-Stars were gunned down, ending the top half. Brian Pointer hit an off the wall triple, and then scored on an errant throw tying up the game 2-2 after 3.

The Heat broke away in the seventh scoring six runs. The inning started with Joey Wong hitting a single to left field, stealing second and advancing to third on a wild pitch. Luke Hughes proceeded with a walk and steal to second. Allan De San Miguel reached on a fielder's choice and Jordan McDonald singled to right field scoring Hughes. The inning continued in this fashion with De San Miguel, Tim Smith, McDonald, Turnbull and Dixon scoring. The game concluded in the top of the ninth with a Heat victory of 10-5.

The Alcohol. Think Again will play the USA All-Stars again tomorrow 25 October at the Merlin Oval in Mandurah at 2:20pm. The game is free to the public and will raise funds for the Peel Baseball Club. The Heat will open the 2014-2015 Australian Baseball League season and the defense of the Claxton Shield on 31 October against the Sydney Blue Sox at Barbagallo Ballpark at 7:20pm.
