17 October 2014 - The Alcohol. Think Again Perth Heat played the USA All-Stars in their second pre-season game on Friday, 17th October at Barbagallo Ballpark. While the Heat trailed from the beginning of the game, the Heat prevailed with a 14-7 victory in 9 innings.

Opening on the mound for the Heat was Alex Burkard with Steel Russell catching. It was a rough start for Perth, letting up 4 runs in the top of the first. The Heat retaliated in the bottom of the first with Brian Pointer hitting one out of the park and Joey Wong crossing the plate off a wild pitch.

Jordan McDonald scored in the second after stealing second and third base due to a fielding error. The Heat took the lead in the bottom of the 3rd with Tim Smith, Luke Hughes, Allan De San Miguel, and Matt Kennelly all scoring runs bringing the Heat to a 7-5 advantage.

Scott Mitchinson took the mound in the fifth with a tied 7-7 game. The Heat began to erupt again in the sixth with an RBI by Joey Wong, plating Steel Russell and with Jake Turnbull scoring on a passed ball. Cameron Lamb closed the game holding the USA All-Stars at 7.

The Alcohol. Think Again will play the USA All-Stars again tomorrow night on 18 October. The Heat will open the 2014-2015 Australian Baseball League season and the defense of the Claxton Shield on 31 October against the Sydney Blue Sox at Barbagallo Ballpark at 7:20pm.
