Knight returns to the role of manager after last year being appointed in somewhat controversial circumstances.

Knight led the Bite to a strong revival during his time at the helm, taking the Bite to within one game of a playoff appearance and giving the team, organisation and most importantly the South Australian baseball public confidence that 2014/15 will be bigger and better for the Bite.

Knight said of his recent re-appointment, "I'm really looking forward to taking charge of this team during the upcoming season. Last year we laid some solid foundations for the team, and if we can play more consistent baseball across the board, there's no reason why this team can't contend for the title this season."

The Knight era began with a series sweep against the Brisbane Bandits, and continued with victories in eight of the Bite's first 11 games in 2014, only to finish with a heartbreaking series defeat against eventual champions the Alcohol. Think Again Perth Heat, which cost the side a spot in the 2013/14 playoffs.

Knight said of the disappointing end to the 2013/14 season, "that final regular season series against Perth really hurt us as a group. In hindsight we only needed to win one of the four games to book a spot in the playoffs, and given we were up 4-0 in one game, and another game went to extra innings, it's one that got away for us. We learnt a lot from that series, and we're really looking forward to our first home series against the Heat."

When asked about what the Bite needed to improve on most for the upcoming season, Knight only had one word on his mind. "Consistency. At our best, we're going to be very tough to beat, but those lapses in concentration cost us dearly last year. If we can limit the damage when the opposition gets going, and make the most of our momentum when we get hot, it'll be a good season for our boys."

The Bite get their 2014/15 campaign underway with a four game away series against the Brisbane Bandits on the 30th of October. The Bite's first home stand will take place against defending champions the Alcohol. Think Again Perth Heat on the 13th of November.
