SYDNEY, 24 December - For the third time this season, an Adealide Bite player has been selected as the ABL Delta Airlines Player of the Week. Bite first baseman Ji-Man Choi took home the top honours for Round 8 after an impressive weekend versus the Alcohol. Think Again Perth Heat at home at Norwood Oval. Choi was an intricate part of the Bite offensive attack that was able to win two out of four games versus the Heat.For the series, Choi batted .385 with 3 home runs and 6 RBIs. Ji-Man had 3 RBIs in each of the Bite's two weekend victories, including two home runs in Saturday afternoon's thrilling 5-3 Bite victory. In that game, Choi hit home the eventual winning runs with his second home run of the game in the 6th inning, when he crushed a ball deep over the center field fence. He conluded the series with two hits on Sunday, including another big home run. With the score tied 3-3 in the 5th, Choi connected for his third series home run,giving the Bite a lead that they would never give back as they would go on to win 5-4. Overall on the season, Choi leads the Bite in batting average (.329), RBIs (15), on base percentage (.424), and is second in home runs (4) and slugging (.543) to outfielder and fellow Player of the Week Angus Roeger. The other Bite to win top honours this season so far was Justin Howard. Choi, Roeger, and the rest of the team will be back in action in Sydney this Thursday for a four game series versus the Blue Sox. The two will then battle it out in Adelaide 3-6 January.
