Heat revamp roster for Asia Series
11/04/2012 7:42 PM ET

After an impressive sweep of the Adelaide Bite this weekend, the Alcohol. Think Again Perth Heat shift their focus toward Busan Korea where they will participate as the ABL Champions in the prestigious Asia Series.

Oriole Imports Steve Bumbry (OF) and Michael Ohman (1B/C) arrived Sunday in Perth, just a day before turning around to head for Korea. Baseball Operations Lachlan Dale commented on their addition "They will solidify our lineup [for Korea]. I'm sure they'll take some time to settle in after many hours of travel time but they will have a positive impact for the Heat for sure."

Another key addition for the Heat staff will be Korean hero Dae Sung Koo. The lefty legend, who has pitched for the New York Mets, will also bring a plethora of experience from his time playing at the highest level in Japan and Korea. Australian baseball fans might recognize him from his 2010-2011 season with the Sydney Blue Sox where he tallied up 12 saves with an impressive 1.00 ERA and 1.44 opposition batting average. He followed up in 2011-2012 with 8 saves and 19 strikeouts in 16 innings.

Dale expressed his approval for the addition, "It's great to have a talent such as Koo on our roster. He is a national hero in Korea and I'm sure he'll add quality to our bullpen."

Many people around the Heat organization are excited about this squad making the trip. With the recent additions, their impressive domestic talent, and strong all-around pitching and hitting, the team looks to showcase the best line-up they've had in a few years.
