With football season over and the weather heating up, it's time to turn our interest to baseball. The Sydney Blue Sox are about to begin the 3rd season of the Australian Baseball League and they are getting things started with an action packed "Baseball Week".

Baseball Week begins on Saturday, October 20th at 2pm where the Manly Warringah Baseball club will host the Sydney Blue Sox in a Spring Training match-up at Aquatic Reserve. This will be the first time that the Blue Sox will be in action this year and fans first opportunity to see the new crop of imports that will be taking the field this season.

On Sunday the 21st, Sydney Blue Sox Stadium at Blacktown International Sportspark will host the inaugural U9 Blue Sox Cup & FanFest. A total of 32 Under 9 tee-ball teams will be in action all day long across eight diamonds with the two best teams moving forward to play in the final on Saturday the 10th of November immediately before the Blue Sox game against the Brisbane Bandits. The day will also serve as the Members Season launch where members and fans alike can come out to the newly painted stadium, enjoy a few games of tee-ball, take part in some fun activities, meet some players and coaches and enjoy some of the new food on offer at the ball park. Members can also pick up their supporters packs so they will be ready for the first game of the season.

On Wednesday the 24th, the Sydney Blue Sox Season officially gets underway with the Season Launch @ Parliament House. Blue Sox Staff, players and Board Members will join officials from the ABL and Baseball NSW as guests of NSW Premier, Barry O'Farrell and Minister of Sports and Recreation, Graeme Annesley at Parliament House.

On Thursday the 25th of October (Sydney time), the first game of the 2012 Major League Baseball World Series will get underway in America. The Giants, Cardinals, Nationals, Tigers , Athletics, Yankees and Orioles are all still in contention right now and there is still 2 weeks of spectacular playoff baseball before the "Fall Classic" gets underway.

Friday the 26th of October is when all the action really gets going with the first game of the Australia Series. This historic 3 game series will mark the first time that Team Australia has played in NSW since 2006. It will serve as a fantastic preparation for the Sydney Blue Sox upcoming ABL season and a strong selection indicator for Team Australia ahead of the 2013 World Baseball Classic. The games will all take place at Sydney Blue Sox Stadium @ Blacktown International Sportspark, Rooty Hill on Friday the 26th at 7:30pm, Saturday the 27th at 7:30pm and Sunday the 28th at 12:30pm
