PERTH, 13 July - And Sam makes four.

The Pittsburgh Pirates announced Wednesday that they have signed 16-year-old Sam Kennelly to a minor league contract. He joins brothers Josh (Cincinnati Reds), Tim (Philadelphia Phillies) and Matt (Atlanta Braves) as the fourth member of the family to join a MLB organisation.

"This is a really exciting time," said Sam. "I have three older brothers that have signed so I know a little bit about the minors system and what to expect. I'm ready for it."

Even with all his brothers have accomplished, Sam says that he has never felt any pressure. "I haven't noticed any added expectation because of my brothers' success. I just go out there and play and concentrate on my game."

The Western Australia teen is currently training in the MLB Australian Academy and has represented the state in the Under 14 and 16 National Championships. He will move up to the Under 18's next year.
