SYDNEY, 15 February - The Australian Baseball Federation (ABF) is pleased to announce that the 2012 Baseball Australia Diamond Awards proudly presented by Virgin Australia (BADAs) will be held on Saturday, 25th February at the Stamford Plaza in Sydney.

The BADAs are regarded as the most prestigious event on Australian Baseball's social calendar and serve to acknowledge and reward achievements and excellence across all levels of our sport. The BADAs also provide the platform for annual Baseball Australia Hall of Fame inductions, in which we bestow our sport's highest honours.

Entry begins at 5:30pm for a 6:00pm start, with the event wrapping up at 12:00am.

Dress: Black Tie

All Australian Baseball members and their guests are welcome to this special event and encouraged to celebrate with friends and family. Individual and group booking welcome:

2012 Hall of Fame Inductees:
Induction into the Baseball Australia Hall of Fame is the highest honour in Australian Baseball.

Baseball Australia Hall of Fame membership is divided into two categories of excellence; 1.) Playing, 2.) Managing / Coaching. All members are inducted in one of eight eras and nominations adhere to strict standards of criteria for selection, with the primary criteria being that a nominee must have had a prolonged impact on the game of Baseball at the highest level available at that time and not be deemed to have brought the game of Baseball into disrepute.

This year's honourees are: Richard (Dick) Shirt (NSW), Glenn Williams (NSW), and Simone Wearne (VIC).
