Saturday 27/11 - Game one Cancelled
11/27/2010 11:51 AM ET
UPDATE - 27/11 - 1:30PM

Game one has been cancelled and will be re-scheduled for a future date, we will notify you about game 2 scheduled for 7:00PM tonight as soon as we can make a determination on the field conditions.

Report for Friday night Baseball fans came out in droves last night to witness what was to have been the first Melbourne Aces home game against Canberra Cavalry at the fantastic Showgrounds arena. Despite the weather and a few minor setbacks during the week, the field was ready to go and the 2000-strong crowd was ready to witness in the making. The atmosphere in the stands was electric as the fans with fans catching up with friends from all over Melbourne and chatting about the action to come - until the rain started pouring down that is. The team bravely continued their warm up routine as the crowd sheltered hopefully under a sea of umbrellas. But it wasn't to be. Finally, at around 8.00pm, General Manager Windsor Knox made the call. The constant downpour had soaked the arena to the extent that it would have been dangerous for the players to take the field. Visibility wouldn't have been that great either. The good news is that anyone who still has their ticket for last night's rained out game can exchange it for a ticket for Sunday's 12.00pm game, or any other game this weekend. Just take your ticket to the Box Office near the entry to make the swap.
